Taisha Zeigler's: The Baby Shower Gallery

The Gathering Place is an appealing venue for an artistic event.

The walls are lined with beautiful cultural paintings.

The guests enjoyed the decor, sangrias, and each other.

Guests soon enjoyed the mother-to-be. Who put the occasion into prospective, when she entered her baby shower exuding motherhood, and the happiness thereof.

The traditional baby shower games begin!

The winner is...this guest wins the fill-in-the-blank nursery rhyme game. She was estactic to be no. 1 at "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" lullabies.

Many guests tried their luck with the second game, "Winner Takes All". Guests put 1 one-dollar bills, or even 4 or 5 of them, in this large baby bottle, hoping to be a few dollars richer at the end of the night. They wrote their name on each bill they entered. Soon the host would shake the bottle up and pick a bill out of the bottle. The bill was selected...

The name on that bill surely took "All."

After eating, talking, and dancing, it was time to open the gifts.

The mother and father-to-be discussing who knows, maybe, the "All", or exiting the 'The Baby Shower Gallery,' and entering the partnership known as parenthood!

Beer Pong Tourney... w/ the Boys.

The tournament is all set up and ready to be played!
And, AJ shoots the first shot... he is seriously focusing.
But, Bart goes after the ball in hopes to score a cup!
Just a little teasing done on Bart's side. ;)
Now, Bart's turn to focus - and pray!

The game gets more serious as only a few cups are left.

AJ smirks - he knows that he is about to win with only one cup left.

The pressure is ON. And he shoots...
And SCORES! AJ's team wins!

Walbert Young, Photostory: "monday, noon"

This itinerant preacher and his sign were obstructing my path on Monday before noon. I had better places to be and he didn't. I never caught his name and I didn't hear his story, but this isn't his story - it's mine.

This is my photo story and what I saw on the corner of Liacouras Walk and Berks Mall.

He wasn't working alone - this woman was helping him, handing out leaflets. Besides eternal damnation, the leaflet touched upon the power struggle between men and women and concluded that women should be subservient.

Naturally, a man with a huge sign yelling at students on Liacouras Walk would draw hecklers.

This student got particularly irate. "The Bible has unicorns in it," he said. "Are you really telling us to believe everything in it?" The student was unable to offer the precise verse with unicorns, nor did he elaborate further.

"If someone knew about 9/11 beforehand," the preacher said, "wouldn't it be their duty to tell people to save lives? I know you're going to hell and I'm trying to save your life."

"How do you know?" asked the student.

"He told me," the preacher replied, pointing to Jesus in the sky.

"When?" the student asked. "Did he come down to tell you in person, or did he tell you in a dream?"

Other students began yelling logical fallacies, but I don't know what they hoping to accomplish. The atmosphere grew increasingly tense.

Suddenly, this student stepped in and started reading out the entire St. Crispen's Day Speech from Shakespeare's Henry V.

"
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive."

Within about twenty minutes, things had gotten so out of hand that the police had to step in. They politely asked the preacher and his female assistant to leave, and they politely agreed.

"And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

... or listened to that itinerant preacher on Liacouras Walk one Monday, at noon.

Kimberley Richards "A night at the River deck"

These two girls are sitting in the taxi on their way to get to the bar. The girl by the window was feeling a little impatient because they had to get there by 10:00 p.m so they could get in free.

This picture is a view of the taxi from inside. This is the view from the passengers where they can see how much is on the meter and how close they are to their destination.

As one of the girls tries to enter, the employee at the bar stops her to check her I.D.

The girls are ready to begin their night as they walk on the deck to get to the bar area.

This picture is of the name of the bar the girls were at. When you are walking on the deck, you can see this image on the ground.

As you pass through the deck you get to the bar area. It is still pretty early in the night, so a few people are at the bar getting drinks.

The girls try to decide what they want to order. There are quite a few options for drinks so it took some concentration.

After a drink, the girls start to loosen up and dance to reggae music.

After a night of dancing, the girls were now hot and tired and ready to go home.
